1. Overview

This page explains how cancellation and refunds work for Pyor. Pyor Personal is free — there is nothing to pay, cancel, or refund.

Pyor Teams is $4.99 per active user / month, billed through Stripe. It renews on a monthly basis and you can cancel at any time; when you cancel, the workspace keeps its Teams features through the end of the period you have already paid for, and then reverts to Personal. If you choose annual billing, an upgrade you make mid-term is prorated to the day for the remainder of the term; a downgrade or cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period rather than immediately.

2. How to cancel

Cancellation is self-serve: open your billing settings and cancel the subscription there — it stops the next renewal while leaving your access in place until the paid period ends. If you’d rather we handle it, or you can’t reach your billing settings, email billing@pyor.review from the account’s billing address and we’ll take care of it. Cancelling stops future charges; it does not, by itself, trigger a refund of amounts already billed (see Refunds below).

3. EU & French right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer in the European Union (including France), EU consumer law gives you a 14-day right of withdrawal for contracts concluded at a distance, normally counted from the day the contract is concluded for a service.

There is an important nuance for digital services. If you ask us to begin the service immediately, within the 14-day window, you acknowledge that:

  • once the service has been fully performed, you lose the right of withdrawal; and
  • if you withdraw while the service is still being supplied, you may owe an amount proportionate to what was provided up to the point you told us you were withdrawing.

In practice this rarely bites, because every org starts on a 14-day free trial with no card required: in most cases no charge occurs during the withdrawal window at all, and the workspace simply reverts to Personal if you don’t choose to pay. To exercise the right of withdrawal where it applies, email billing@pyor.review within the period; a clear statement is enough, and we’ll confirm and process it without undue delay.

4. Refunds

Outside the cases where mandatory consumer law requires otherwise (see EU right of withdrawal), refunds are discretionary. Because Teams is billed monthly and you keep access through the period you’ve paid for, we don’t routinely refund a period already started. That said, we aim to be fair: if you were charged in error, hit a problem that we couldn’t resolve, or something else doesn’t sit right, email billing@pyor.review and we’ll look at it on its merits — including a pro-rated adjustment where that’s the fair outcome. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method via Stripe.

5. Taxes

Prices are in USD and exclude any applicable VAT/GST/sales tax, which is added at checkout where required.

Where tax applies, it is calculated at checkout based on your billing location and any valid tax ID (for example an intra-EU VAT number) you provide. Refunds, where granted, are made inclusive of any tax originally charged on the refunded amount.

6. Chargebacks

If something looks wrong on your statement, please contact us first at billing@pyor.review — we can almost always resolve a billing issue faster than a bank dispute, and a chargeback filed before you’ve reached out can result in the affected account being suspended while the dispute is worked out. We’ll always try to make it right.

7. Discounts

We keep Pyor accessible to the communities it’s built for:

  • Open-source maintainers and registered non-profits get Teams free.
  • Students and educators get 50% off Teams.

These are subject to verification of eligibility. To apply, or to ask how a discount interacts with an existing subscription, email support@pyor.review with proof and we’ll sort it out.

8. Changes

We may update this policy as our billing practices and the law evolve. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date above and bump the version. Material changes will be given prominent notice (for example on the site or by email), and they won’t retroactively reduce rights you’ve already accrued for a period you’ve paid for.
